So now I want to give you a great way that you can inspire engagement on your channel, which will really propel your channel going forward. Because YouTube and the new algorithm updates that are constantly being changed, optimize and everything going into this, really places a high value on how much engagement you get right off the bat.
So if YouTube sees a video that’s not getting any views, obviously, they’re not gonna rank that or hold that in very high esteem and they see a video that’s getting views, you know, likes and comments or even dislikes. And believe it or not, dislikes are actually engagement as well. YouTube is going to hold that against you.
So if you can give yourself a great chance to get suggested, that will really help you going forward.
Tips on how to get on YouTube suggested videos
So I’m going to give you a little trick and a little tip. And that trick and tip is buying subscribers. Now, it’s not what you think. I’m not talking about buying subscribers, buying YouTube subscribers like buying followers on Instagram doesn’t work anymore. It’s actually gonna hurt your channel in the long run. If you buy subscribers like that are fake, or people that are even with real accounts that don’t engage because another metric that YouTube uses to measure your videos and the success of your videos is actually how much the ratio of your subscribers and the engagement that you get.
The giveaway
What you do want to do is buy subscribers the new way. It’s a giveaway. So initially people were giving away courses or consultations. And that’s great too. If you don’t have a lot of money to give away, I suggest that you do something like that and find something that you can offer value and then offer it as a giveaway.
An example is a $400 cash giveaway for subscribers or if you are doing product reviews, you can give away the actual product. Post it like a normal video or in your title, you can mention giveaway at the end. “Win a free GoPro 8”
It’s a lead magnet.
So they might’ve just seen this video potentially or another video. They come and they notice that I’m doing a giveaway and they, they engage with more of my content. They watch a bunch of more of my content, they comment on a lot more of my content.
And not only is that good for finding other people potentially because your video is getting suggested, but it also gives an opportunity for them to sit back and say, you know what, I actually kind of like this content and I’m going to subscribe permanently and continue to watch what comes out because this is intriguing. So just to kind of give you a simplistic overview without playing the video for you. Um, let me just pause it really fast here.
You don’t have to give away cash, but you can.
It’s probably the best way, but if you don’t, maybe you’re good in affiliate marketing, maybe you’re good at soccer, tech reviewed product, info product, whatever your is built around, figure out something that you can provide a value to people and then offer that for free as a giveaway.
Emergency Awesome does a movie ticket giveaways:
So the way that I do it here specifically is I say I’m going to launch this giveaway starting on some date, I do this every month. And then the way that people can potentially win for the giveaway is they just simply leave a comment, subscribe or even share your video.
Creating a win-win situation
What that does is I win because I get their engagement. They win because they get a potential entry into the giveaway and every single comment that people comment is a potential entry. And then I end up going into my creator studio at the very end of the month and I do the drawing for the giveaway.
So what I do is I randomly generate a number, go to Google, and I’ll just do random, I don’t know why, just typing cool random number generator such as pretend that didn’t happen. And I go back to see when all that engagement started on to one. And then maybe that might be like a hundred pages back and then I’ll generate a random number for in between one in a hundred and that’s 41 and so whoever’s at either the top or the bottom of those pages, depending on what I designate is the winner.
What about spammers?
Now you’ll see here that I do, I do respond to some of these people when they, they start spamming. I either hide their comments, which is something you can do in your YouTube studio. Hide this user’s comments on this channel. However, you never want to delete comments because of it’s engagement.
So just simply hide their comments and they’ll continue to engage. You’ll get credit for it, but people in your channel won’t see that. So they’re none the wiser. There’s still going to be helping you, but they’re not hurting you.
I just prompted engagement by offering giveaways in this specific example. It’s cash. In other specific examples I’ve seen consulting given away, I’ve seen people redoing product listings for Amazon, regardless of what your niche is, regardless of what you’re talking about or teaching, there’s something that you can give away a value that your audience is going to want.
Now, this isn’t going to work right off the bat when you don’t really have an audience. You might want to build up to like a hundred or two subscribers first. But then once you get those first 100 subscribers, launch one of these and test it out and see what happens. Some of the best people in the game right now are doing this and it’s working wonders for building their channel and giving them exponential growth to name two of them right off the bat.
Conclusion
Once you build your channel a little bit. It’s definitely something that you’re going to want to do. You can tweak some of your existing videos and improve them going forward.
